Erwin stared into the glassy water. Once again, he finds himself alone somewhere in Katalyn. For once in his life he wished he had a companion. Well, maybe not for once, but he didn't usually think it. Erwin sighed, his life was lonely alright. For the most part he didn't care But there were days in which he wished he had a mate, or a friend. Today was one of those days

The night sky pressed on Shianna emphising the lonlieness that she felt inside. If only she could find a companion who could be exactlly who she wanted. but only a miracle could make that happen. And miracles were few in Katalyn. then a sillouette appered on the edge of her vision. Maybe.. just maybe.. miracles did happen.

Erwin sensed someone behind him and spun around. There was a figure in the night and he smiled slightly. There was rarely a chance where he wished for a companion and saw someone. "Hello. How is your night so far" Erwin said softly but kindly.

Shianna smiled tentavly. "Im fine. how are u?" the figure smiled back, warmly, and carfully. an echo of her own voice.

Erwin smiled again as the figure replied. He recognized a woman. "What is your name?" He asked. He couldnt see her well but he could tell she was around 6"4, and her eyes shined. Erwin oped she didnt leave.

"Im Shianna" Shianna was pleased by this simple talk. It was a cold and lonly night and more than herself needed a friend. "Whats yours?" Beneath the moonlight Shianna could see that this stranger was a male. He had no intention of leaving and neither did Shianna.

Erwin stepped foreward. "Where are you headed?" He asked. Erwin could see she wasnt going to walk away, that pleased him. He had not spoken with someone like this for a long time. He wanted it to last, he liked being with people sometimes, and when he didnt he wasnt objected to it just not thinking about talking with others. Once again his life was lonely.

Shianna opened her mouth in response only to find no words would come to mind. To tell the truth, she was simply wandering at random - a habbit she could never seem to break. Shianna breathed in, then sensing that the stranger was looking at her oddly, she should say somthing. "Nowhere, I walk around the lake to get away" Shianna wondered why she was being thruthful with this stranger.

Erwin was surprised to find that she was lost for words for a moment. Then she regained composure. Erwin nodded at her reply. He often wandered around with no particualr aim. But to get away? "If you dont mind me asking to get away from what?" Erwin said carefuly not waning to be nosey.

"Oh a bit of everything I mean.." Shianna answered quickly. Then Shianna's shoulders slumped slightly in defeat. She felt she couldn't lie to this stranger.. strangly "Its my sister" Shianna tryed to push back the onslaught of memories that threatened to take over her by looking past his shoulder. "She's back in town and whenever I look at her I have a anger so hard that its hard to fight myself from walking out and finding that man.." Shianna bit her lip. She shouldn't have told him that. "You never told me your name" She said hurridly, to steer this conversation back on a course that didn't disturb everyone in the area

Erwin dipped his head "I understand running away. If there is anything I understand its running away" He said softly remebering his own sister. He noticed her trying to steer clear of the subject on her sister so he did. "My name is Erwin. Sorry" He said. He didnt like his name. It was too... he didnt know he just didnt like it.

"Erwin.." Shianna treated the name delicately. "I like that name" . Shianna pondered the meaning of Erwins last words. It was assuredly not something someone would say on a regular basis. But then again.. Erwin was not regular. "Erwin" Shianna said quietly, almost a whisper. "How do you understand.. running away?" Shianna said cautiously, not knowing whether the matter was personal or not, and if it was Shianna did not want to intrude.

He pondered the answer to her last question carefuly. How should he answer that? He was not sure about the truth, but it seemed wrong to leave her hanging and wondering about his answer. He had to answer. "I ran away from my sister. She needed me. Our parents had died and I was supposed to take care of her. I ran away from the responsibity" Erwin replied. He told her the whole truth. He had been scared. And young. It was what had happened.

Shianna held her breath. This was something personal. Deeply personal, that ran deep in the blood of Erwin, making him who he was. Shianna couldn't think of anything to say. She was amazed that someone had told her the truth - an important truth nevertheless. "Oh" was all her brain could think of. Shianna bit her lip hard. 'Oh' was all she could think of? Shianna felt stupid, what would Erwin think of her! Shianna struggled to say something - anything. "The sun is setting" she said. It would do.

Erwin smiled and looked . The sun was indeed setting. "Yes it is" He said and chucked slightly. The sun cast light on her and she was indeed very pretty. her blue eyess sparkled in the light and her black wavy hair blew just a bit in the wind. She was indeed very pretty.
